How does Mediation work?

The most important pre-requisite for a mediation session is, that both conflict parties agree that they want to seriously work on a solution.

The mediator has a neutral position in the process. She or he does not stick to one or the other party and does not judge whether opinions or solutions are good or not.

The responsibility of the mediator is to lead the conflict parties through a structured communication process that allows the mediants to find a solution for their conflict that serves both needs.

The road to success:
The cognition and acknowledgement of interests and needs behind positions discloses new ways to manage the conflict.
